We live in Newport Beach, CA and we are definitely partial in saying that it’s probably the best place in the world to live. It is beautiful here with great beaches, scenic hiking and biking trails, many restaurants and bars. The weather averaging highs 75°F and never lower than 50°F. Great community and social activities. Arts and culture with world class theaters, performing arts and museums nearby.

Where it all Started – thetraveltale.com
In a remote town in the middle of nowhere Mexico north of Mexico City, amidst the cactus and desert terrain—a revelation occurs that would forever alter the trajectory of my life. This is the beginning of our tale, a narrative woven with threads of wanderlust, liberation, and the soul-stirring essence of travel.
Coming from a corporate job, where spreadsheets reigned supreme and deadlines dictated existence, I spent three and a half decades tethered to the rhythm of meeting after meeting, mundane project after project. Yet, within the confines of my meticulously organized world, a whisper lingered—a yearning for something more profound, more vibrant than the monochrome confines of my office desk and computer.
It was a simple plea, uttered with the sincerity only a loved one can muster—a gentle nudge from my husband, a sage beacon in the tumult of routine. “You need a hobby,” he proclaimed, his words a catalyst for metamorphosis. And so, with hesitant steps and a heart aflutter with anticipation, I embarked upon a journey.
The Travel Tale was born—a testament to the boundless possibilities that arise when one dares to cast off the shackles of convention and embrace the kaleidoscopic wonders of the globe. Inspired by the lyrical prose of Frances Mayes, whose enchanting tales of Tuscan sunsets and Mediterranean vistas ignited the flames of wanderlust within my soul, we set forth to unravel the tapestry of the world, one destination at a time.
